Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, a musician's daughter from Mexico, was born to an adored family of musicians. She spent the majority of her early years listening to music from the past, boleros from the past, classic ranchero or romantic songs along with older classical songs. Ana enjoys tangos and the dramatic and opera performances. She was taught by her mother to sing, however she started intensive vocal training with Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. he was a renowned Mexican opera Tenor. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. When she was a student, and a young professional, she was a part of many chamber groups and opera choruses throughout Guadalajara and Mexico City. She sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist with traditional Latin American music at private events. She is involved with many local initiatives in both teaching as well as a performer due to her enthusiasm for art and music. Ana was a former participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands (as as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana hopes, by sharing her knowledge of Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly among the younger generation to keep this tradition in the present.
